Esther Stocker- Untitled 2015
This piece is a striking example of Esther Stocker’s geometric, optical abstraction. The composition is built from a dense black-and-white grid that creates a rhythmic tension between structure and distortion. Within the rigid field of squares, two vertical forms subtly tilt inward and outward, producing a sense of spatial vibration and visual instability.
Stocker’s characteristic use of systemic patterns precise grids interrupted by intentional irregularities gives the work a dynamic, architectural presence. The contrast between perfect order and controlled disruption invites the viewer to experience shifting depth, illusion, and movement as the eye navigates the composition.
The work is executed on canvas and is signed on the back, reading “E. Stocker 2015”.
